The bar opens from the centre front with chromed handles and features a mirrored rising back panel that has fitted shelves for glassware. The glossy walnut doors open to reveal various compartments for bottles, bar accessories, an ice box and a streamlined mirrored tray. To the right door is a section which holds bar accessories and still contains a bottle cap opener, a corkscrew, a metal soda bottle cap, a lemon juicer and a pair of ice nips. Unfortunately two of the original accessories are lost to history, however their recessed housings show where they would have originally been placed. In the centre front of the cabinet is a small plaque noting Asprey as the retailer. Asprey of London was established in 1781 and has since the reign of Queen Victoria held a royal warrant. Notable clients of Asprey include Queen Mary, The Maharaja of Patiala and Ringo Starr. The firm remains well-known globally for their jewellery, silver and luxury homewares. The piece retains its original key and has been recently cleaned and polished. An advertisement from 1936 shows the piece alongside three other bars, advertised for £60, the most expensive of the four. An exceedingly lovely piece of functional furniture which is as practical today as it was 95 years ago.

Measures - 36cm D x 65cm W x 93cm H (closed)

*PLEASE CONTACT US FOR A SHIPPING QUOTE BEFORE PURCHASING*

A solid rosewood, João V chest of drawers in the Portuguese Rococo era taste from the second half of the 18th century.
