This set of Chinese export silver spoons are a 'harlequin set' meaning they are all meant to be together, however have slightly different designs. The term harlequin is often applied to crystal stemware where the pieces are all the same shape and size, however have been coloured differently or 'cut' differently. These spoons are all the same length and size, however have slightly different handles and repousse detailing. The makers mark on the rear of the spoon has not been identified, but likely is for a Chinese silversmith from the early 20th Century. The spoon bowls each have a pair of Chinese characters engraved into them which are likely auspicious characters and matched across all four pieces. There is also what appears to be a monogram to rear of the handles again matched across all four pieces. These spoons are beautifully made and feature an array of Chinese iconography.

Marked - unidentified Chinese makers mark to rear
