This 22 karat gold Maltese Cross style pendant was made by jeweller David Yurman. The textured gold cross has been set with five cabochon emeralds that are rub-over set into each point of the cross with a single cabochon in the centre of the piece. The piece is from the David Yurman 'Shipwreck' collection and was also available with rubies or sapphires. To create the waterworn finish it is said that Yurman jewellers studied ancient gold coins to try and replicate their patina. The piece has a sizeable bale to allow it to be worn from a chain with ease. A beautiful and scarce piece by David Yurman.
