A magnificent pair of ruby and diamond ear clips set in 18 karat yellow gold. The French made five petal flower clips feature ruby set petals totalling 6.25 carat and round brilliant cut diamond set centres with each diamond of J/L colour and SI-P1 clarity totalling 1.75 carat. To the rear the pair have wire keyhole hinged clips with articulated post fittings which allow them to be worn as either clips or stud earrings. These earrings are marked in several locations with 'French Owl' import marks indicating they were imported into France between 1893-1990. Likely dating to the 1950s or 1960s these ear clips are an exceptional example of Retro period jewellery.
