A really beautiful 19th century Continental porcelain figure of a cherub and goat with ormolu mount. The piece depicts a cherub holding up a bunch of grapes and a goat eyeing off the 'prize'. To the underside of the porcelain is a faux Sevres mark which is assumed to have been a later addition with the piece likely German in origin. Whilst it is difficult to give an origin of their manufacture, the goat and cherub have similarities to the work produced in the Meissen factory during the 19th century. A really lovely and well cared for piece of antique Continental porcelain which is quaint but also rather amusing.
