An early automatic chronograph wristwatch in 18 karat gold by Swiss maker, Zelus. The case is crafted from solid 18 karat gold and is fully hallmarked. Zelus was a sub brand of 'Chronograph Suisse' and only manufactured by them from the mid 1950s to the early 1960s making them rather scarce items. The nice feature of this piece is its original dial and luminous hands, which haven't been repainted or replaced in favour of a crisper look. This watch is on the larger side of timepieces from the era, and lends itself well to the contemporary fashion for bigger watches. A really unusual wristwatch, and in solid gold, is definitely one which will be admired.
