A beautiful Belle Epoque era pendant set with diamonds and a sapphire in an 18 karat yellow gold mount. The symmetrical pendant contains 8 stones with the central stone being a kite shaped blue sapphire weighing 0.26 carat. Below the sapphire are three old cut diamonds of G/H colour and VS-SI2 clarity weighing between 0.48 carat and 0.50 carat each. Above the sapphire sits amongst some filigree work another four old cut diamonds of H colour and SI clarity weighing 0.12 carat. The outer frame of the pendant has a scalloped shaped engraved border which has the symmetry and flow of a Belle Epoque piece of jewellery. Whilst unmarked the piece is likely French or Continental in origin and dates to the first quarter of the 20th century. With the addition of a very fine gold chain this pendant whilst petite in size packs a punch due to the size of the quality stones.
