A bold and beautifully handmade feather pin by iconic French jeweller, Boucheron from the 1950s. This pin is entirely handcrafted from 18 karat yellow gold and is set with twenty six brilliant cut rubies and eleven brilliant cut diamonds. The piece is presented in its original box for their London retailing store in New Bond Street. The brooch is marked with English hallmarks indicating it was manufactured in their London workroom rather than their French location. The 'S' hallmark would suggest manufacture in 1953. To the rear there is a double hinged pin and hook clasp which is working and is secure. An absolutely exquisite example of 1950s cocktail 'retro' period jewellery.
Signed 'Boucheron' along with English gold hallmarks for 1953.
