A fine pair of 19th century Italian filigree earrings made in Naples. The pair are manufactured from 14 karat yellow gold, fine seed pearls and foiled back glass. From the markings on these earrings they can be dated between 1824 and 1878 in the Italian city, Napoli (Naples), and are entirely handmade. The fitting to place these earrings on the ear is a 'hinged continental clip' securing through the ear to the front. The pair have a rich patina accumulated over the past 150 years, and are in exceptional condition for such a fine and intricate pair of earrings.
