A stunning and scarce Art Deco dress clip by Cartier. The piece is likely to originate from Cartier in New York due to the lack of French hallmarks. It is probable that the clip would have originally been part of a pair, mounted onto a frame for use as a brooch or as individual clips. It is manufactured from platinum,18 karat rose gold and is set with pink tourmalines and brilliant old cut diamonds. One of the tourmalines has a slight chip, which is not noticeable to the naked eye. An absolutely stunning piece of wearable history by perhaps the greatest name in twentieth century jewellery, Cartier.
