A fine 18th century mahogany 'bachelor's' chest crafted from mahogany. This fine piece dates to the reign of George III, circa 1770-1775, and is made in the English Chippendale taste. It features four graduated drawers on bracket feet with a pull out 'brushing slide' to the top, along with elaborate brass drawer pulls. An extremely useful chest which could work in a bedroom or even in a lounge room to place a television atop of. This piece has been freshly rejuvenated by our furniture restorer and is ready for placement.
Old paper label to interior of top drawer reads: 'Chippendale Bachelor Chest, English c.1770-1775, Bought from; Feb 4, 1938, Helena Penrose and J.H. Edgette, 147 East 56th St N.Y.C. (Wedding present Tiffany exchange)'.
