An stunning Edwardian (circa 1900) gold, silver and diamond starburst brooch. The piece is manufactured from 14 karat yellow gold, is silver topped and set with 107 European cut and rose cut diamonds. The style of the brooch is a 'starburst' pin, which was popular during the Edwardian period in England. The piece comes in its original box from a jeweller in Sheffield, England. Interestingly the box would have once contained a hair pin, with the rear of the brooch unscrewing to enable conversion into a small tiara style headpiece. This pin has sadly been lost with time, however the brooch is in beautiful condition for a piece nearing 120 years of age. The original safety chain and safety pin are in good condition and working well.
Unmarked however acid tested as 14kt and silver.
Dimensions - widest point 6.8 cm
Total weight - 15.23 grams
Independent appraisal values the piece at $17,150
