An English, George II period sofa crafted from walnut featuring a serpentine back, shaped apron, and cabriole legs.
Its luxurious new covering is in a sage green pattern by famed Italian maker, Fortuny. The house of Fortuny dates back to the early 20th century when Mariano Fortuny started his iconic clothing and textile label. Handmade to date in Venice the textile company is regarded as one of the finest makers in the world, with their fabrics commanding an exceptionally high price per meter. The upholstery is in very good condition and has evidently been well cared for by their previous custodian.
