A striking Art Deco, lapis and diamond pin set in platinum by Black, Starr and Frost. The pin has been handcrafted and comprises of a plaque of richly coloured cobalt blue Lapis, surrounded by single cut diamonds and a further two arrows of diamonds shooting into the centre of the plaque. Signed to the rear 'BS&F' for American firm, Black, Starr and Frost, this piece is an excellent example of the work which the company produced in the 1920s and 1930s. To the rear the brooch has a strong pin and clasp with safety catch, which is in remarkably good condition for the age of the piece. The brooch would be suitable for a lady or a man, with it working equally as well on a men's dinner jacket, or a lady's black dress.
