The Tiffany setting was first introduced in 1886 by Charles Lewis Tiffany and was a departure from the more ornate rub-over settings of the Victorian period. Whilst this particular ring is much alike the Tiffany setting, the traditional version from 1886 features six claws, while this ring has eight, a necessity given the size of the diamond. Whilst the colour and clarity of this particular diamond are slightly down the scale, the sheer size is hard to go past!
