A fine mid century 14 karat yellow gold automatic wristwatch by Omega. This Omega Seamaster De Ville dates to the 1970s and retains a personalised engraving to the rear reading, 'Awarded to Robert J. Fleisher. CLU Senior NYLIC August 1, 1975'. The watch features a champagne tone dial with baton hour markers and a date panel set at 3 o'clock. It also has a personalised dial which reads 'SENIOR NYLIC', with the acronym standing for 'New York Life Insurance Company'. This watch dates to a period when giving a gold watch for long service or retirement was standard practice in many large companies and organisations. It is believed Omega had been selected to make long service watches by NYLIC and had them personalised with the company name added to the dial. The watch is running and keeping time, however has not been tested for accuracy or been serviced. The crown of this piece is an original Omega branded crown. An excellent James Bond era Omega in beautiful condition and featuring a fresh black leather strap with sympathetic gold tone clasp.
