This small sterling silver cocktail shaker was crafted in New York during the first quarter of the 20th Century. The makers mark indicates it was manufactured by New York Firm J.F. Fradley & Co who operated between 1866 and 1936. The piece has been hand-wrought and has a distinctive Art Deco shape and appearance, fitting given its inscription dates it to 1926. The small shaker has a cork stopper which is attached to the main body of the shaker with a small silver chain to prevent it from getting lost. To the front of the shaker is an inscription "CT'S for two (and then some) in memory of Greenbrier 1926" from which we assume 'CT'S' stands for 'cocktails' and the wording 'for two and then some' relates to the fact you could get two cocktails with a tiny bit left over when using the piece to mix drinks. The name 'Greenbrier' likely relates to the West Virginia luxury resort which was founded in 1913 of the same name. The Greenbrier is located in close proximity to the famous sulphur hot springs for which people have been visiting since 1778. A really interesting piece of American silver which would be a wonderful addition to the home bar of an aspiring mixologist.
