This spinach jade and gilt metal box dates to the turn of the century and was likely crafted in Russia. The box which has a look and feel similar to Faberge would have likely been crafted during the end of the imperial period in Russia. The piece has been carved from two solid pieces of jade and is joined with a gilt metal frame. To the top of the lid is an applied gold symmetrical shape which is akin to a monogram, but could be purely decorative, or even a Celtic symbol. The box is a beautiful addition to a collection of small boxes or a divine vessel to store earrings or rings.

Measures - 9cm W x 5cm D x 2.4cm H

Total weight of piece - 119 grams
