This absolutely charming locket pendant dates to the Victorian period and has been crafted from 18 karat yellow gold and set with turquoise cabochon and a central diamond. The oval shape pendant centres on a single 0.03 carat old mine cut diamond of K colour and P1 clarity which has been set into a silver star. This diamond inset star is surrounded with 86 round and oval cabochon turquoise, likely Persian in origin which are perfectly matched and set in a sea of blue. The stones are surrounded with a twisted gold wire which integrates into the jump ring at the top from which the piece can be hung from a fine chain. To the rear of the pendant is a glass 'locket' which could have a lock of hair or a photo placed underneath if desired. This piece is a stellar example of the fine craftsmanship that is seen in Victorian era jewellery.
