Retro Period Tri-Tone Gold & Aquamarine Brooch Pendant

When it comes to Retro period jewellery, this piece is a stellar example and comes in the form of a brooch cum pendant. Hand crafted from tri tone 18 karat gold the piece is set with a central, large octagonal step cut aquamarine weighing 24 carats. This central aquamarine has been set with textured yellow gold claws which securely hold the stone in place. There are two asymmetrical bands of old cut diamonds flanking the aquamarine which are each of G/H colour and VS-SI clarity totalling 8 pieces and 0.36 carat. The top and bottom edge of the brooch has textured yellow gold detailing and to the rear there is a hinged rose gold pin with trombone style clasp. There is a small retractable bale to the rear which allows the piece to be worn on a fine chain as a pendant, giving it great versatility. The brooch pin presents in very good condition overall for a piece which is easily sixty or seventy years old. A gorgeous example of Retro period jewellery which centres on a truly gorgeous aquamarine.
