Rather remarkably, this ring would have originally started life as part of an antique French brooch. The daisy is likely to have been part of a larger diamond 'en tremblant' brooch and perhaps was even detachable to be worn as a hairpin. At some stage in recent years the piece has been transformed into a ring with the clever addition of a gold shank which has been executed very carefully. The silver topped 18 karat gold daisy is set with a central 0.40 carat old mine cut diamond which is of K colour and SI clarity, and this stone forms the centre of the flower. The petals and stamen of the daisy are set with a further 48 diamonds, each of them rose cut, of J/K/L colour and SI clarity. In total the ring has a combined diamond weight of 1.48 carat. This rather sizeable cocktail ring is delicate in construction and beautifully crafted, a true statement piece.
