Mauboussin Amethyst & Mother of Pearl Cocktail Ring

This striking cocktail ring has been set with an amethyst and mother of pearl panels and was made by french jeweller, Mauboussin. The domed cocktail ring centres on an oval deep purple amethyst which is cabochon topped however has a modified brilliant cut pavillion. To each shoulder of the dome is a piece of white mother of pearl which is beautifully matched and in good order. The ring is marked in several places for manufacture by Mauboussin, including to the inside of the gold shank, and also features two small French gold hallmarks to the outside of the gold shank, one indicating manufacture in France, the other noting the maker is Mauboussin. The ring presents in very good order, and whilst only being crafted in the last 30 or so years is a beautiful piece that is a testament to the quality that comes from the Mauboussin workrooms. A really gorgeous piece for a lover of French jewellery!
