Henry Dunay Textured 18kt Gold Ring

Description
This very tasteful ring was made by American jeweller, Henry Dunay. Crafted from 18 karat yellow gold the ring features an ingenious 'hinged shank' which we believe to be original to the piece, and not a later alteration. The purpose of the hinged shank is to allow a ring to go over arthritic knuckles, and would also be helpful for those that suffer from swelling in the fingers. Because the hinge and clasp have been so perfectly crafted and seamlessly integrate into the shank, it is very likely the piece was a custom order, or altered by the Dunay workshop to accomodate such a request. The ring features a brushed 'Florentine' finish, almost imitating a fine silk twill texture, something Dunay pieces often exhibit. Fully signed, the piece which is likely only 20 or 30 years old, has been made in the workshops that crafted pieces for Dunay's illustrious clients such as Elizabeth Taylor and Hillary Clinton. In very lovely condition, the ring shows minimal signs of wear and is ready to be a 21st century wardrobe staple.
