During the mid 20th century it was undeniable that Tiffany and Company were one of the most luxurious jewellery companies in the world. This gorgeous stylised flower brooch pin dates to that period of their fame and was made in Italy for retail by Tiffany. The hefty brooch pin is crafted from 18 karat yellow gold and set with a single oval piece of cabochon turquoise which forms the central 'pollen' of the flower. The very tips of the petals on the flower are textured with the most incredible mottled finish leaving a bold contrast. The piece features a hinged pin to the rear with rolling safety catch for added security when worn. The piece is signed to the inside of the rear of the flower with a plaque and indicates it was manufactured in Italy for retail by Tiffany in their stores. The cabochon turquoise is of the quality that it has possibly been sourced in Persia (modern day Iran) where some of the most beautiful turquoise in the world was mined during the 20th century. An absolutely delightful brooch which is begging to be pinned to a heavy winter coat.
