Description

A pair of oversized walnut armchairs covered in a rich 'Fortuny' fabric. The pair are Dutch in origin and were made in the late 19th century, however have been reupholstered more recently. Their luxurious new covering is in the 'Vivaldi' pattern by famed Italian maker, Fortuny. The house of Fortuny dates back to the early 20th century when Mariano Fortuny started his iconic clothing and textile label. Handmade to date in Venice the textile company is regarded as one of the finest makers in the world, with their fabrics commanding an exceptionally high price per meter. This pair of chairs are monumental in size at over 1.5 meters in height.

Dimensions: 82cm W x 154cm H x 50cm D

Condition: Some minor losses to the legs of the chairs as well as some wear to the varnish in some spots. The upholstery is in very good condition and has evidently been well cared for by their previous custodian.
