Antique Victorian 9kt Yellow Gold Muff Chain

We love a good antique chain and this recent acquisition is no exception. Crafted from 9 karat yellow gold this belcher link 'muff' chain was crafted in the 19th century and was very likely made in the United Kingdom. The chain is marked for 9 karat manufacture on both the chain and the single Albert style clasp, which allows a pendant or fob to be hung from it. At over 150 centimetres in length, this example would be great when doubled or tripled around the neck and would be fantastic to layer other necklaces with. The chain presents in good antique condition with some small repairs to the hand hammered chain, commensurate with age and use. A beautiful antique chain which has the ability to be dressed up or down.

Marked - '9C' to clasp and '9C' to applied plaque on the chain
