Description
This pair of English sterling silver and agate cufflinks were made in the 1930s and have a distinct Art Deco appearance. The pair which were sourced locally in Brisbane feature pieces of grey and pink Scottish agate which have been set into sterling silver mounts made in Birmingham. The rear of the cufflinks feature hallmarks for manufacture in 1937 by Birmingham maker, J Cook and Son who operated between 1885 and 1939. The plaques of the cufflinks comprise an oval and a diamond on each and have a 'positive negative' of pink and grey Scottish agate. Whilst British sterling silver cufflinks are by no means rare, this pair are more interesting in their design than most that we come across, hence why we couldn't pass them up. Whilst they have been well worn, the pair are in very good order for their age, and are perfectly wearable for something nearly 100 years old. A great pair of affordable antique cufflinks that could be worn daily to the office with ease.
