This charming brooch pin has been crafted from 18 karat yellow gold and silver and then set with diamonds, turquoise and a single aquamarine. The 'starburst' or 'shining sun' type pin centres on a large octagonal aquamarine weighing 6.60 carat which has been four claw set. This aquamarine is surrounded by 8 round cabochon turquoise and also diamond set 'rays' which are all rose cut stones that are of H colour and SI/P1 clarity, totalling 0.64 carat. The handmade brooch pin features a hinged pin and hook clasp which appears to be original and working well. Whilst the piece is unmarked, due to its style it is likely English in origin dating to around The Turn of The Century, the period in which starburst brooches were most commonly seen.
