This charming enamel and garnet set brooch is accompanied by its original fitted box and dates to the early 20th Century. The round target style brooch centres on the letters POC, which stands for Pevecka Obec Ceska, or 'Czech Singing Community'. The multicoloured enamels are in lovely condition with no chips or cracks which are sometimes seen in pieces of this age. Surrounded by a rim of deep red garnets, the piece has been crafted from 'tombak' metal, and secures to the rear with a pin and hook clasp which is working well and is secure. The original box which houses the brooch pin is embossed with gilt letters to the lid 'POC' which tells it is original to the piece. A gorgeous little antique brooch from what we now know as the Czech Republic.
