A ceramic plate by EJD Bodley in the trompe l'oeil technique (what appears to be a folded napkin that has been left delicately draped across a basket), from late 1870s England. Edwin James Drew Bodley operated out of part of the Hill Pottery (from 1882 it was called the Crown Works), Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, manufacturing china and earthenware.
