Description

A pair of mid-20th-century ornately carved walnut Italian Renaissance-style hall chairs, referred to as sgabelli, which were primarily intended for decorative purposes. The removable backrests are carved with a crest or shield, surrounded by floral motifs that extend down to the legs, which feature grotesques and claw feet.
