This charming 18 karat gold ring has been set with an oval carnelian intaglio featuring the bust of a lady. The ring and intaglio which date to circa 1835 could be described as late Georgian or early Victorian in their age and whilst probably originally crafted for a lady, could be worn by a man also as a pinky ring. The handmade ring centres on the north south facing carnelian intaglio of a period lady with her hair tied high. The split shoulders feature some original engraving which has worn on one side, commensurate with use for a ring nearing 200 years of age. A charming antique ring with lots of character and very much as wearable today as it was in 1835.
