19th Century Portrait of a Dutch Lady

Description
A superb late 19th century oil on canvas portrait of a lady, very likely Dutch in origin. The oval picture is housed in its original elaborate gilt timber frame which compliments the richly painted portrait very well. To the lower left of the picture is a signature 'Augt. Van Den Burgh' and our thought is that the portrait is likely of a Dutch sugar merchant's wife. A beautiful picture, it is likely the family who commissioned the piece were of good social standing to afford such an opulent portrait.
