This pair of French Art Deco dress clips feature diamonds and emeralds and are set in 18 karat yellow and white gold. The stylish pair are in the form of 'commas' or 'scrolls' and are identical in shape and size. Over the two pieces there are 10 Old European cut diamonds of G/H colour and VS-SI clarity totalling 2.50 carat. These diamonds are accented with six emerald cut emeralds which over the pair total 2 carat and are classed as 'mid green moderately included'. Our belief with this exceptional pair of Deco clips is that originally they would have had a frame that they would have fitted onto to allow them to be worn as a single brooch pin, much in the style of image one. The pair are each marked with French eagle purity marks outlining the gold purity however are not marked for any particular maker. It is thought that should they have had a makers mark it would have likely been on the frame which is no longer with the pair of clips. Whilst it is impossible to say we can see a similarity between these clips and the Art Deco pieces by Boucheron and believe they could be crafted by the famous maison. These exceptional clips have such versatility and can be worn in several ways or even just singly if desired.
