This French bronze sculpture, titled La Jeunesse, was originally by the sculptor Henri Chapu and rendered by the Ferdinand Barbedienne foundry in Paris, using the 'Reduction Mecanique' by French Engineer and company co-founder Achille Collas. The Reduction Mecanique was a technique pioneered by Collas and Barbedienne for reproducing smaller-scale sculptures and is often credited with single-handedly revolutionising the bronze industry at the time. The bronze is also signed 'Tiffany & Co.' as this piece was later retailed in the United States by the New York retailer. Displayed atop a marble base.
Dimensions: 60cm H (excluding marble base)
