Antique 18kt Yellow Gold French Guard Chain

This antique guard chain is likely the nicest example we have had in our collection to date. Crafted from 18 karat gold the chain which has French gold marks would have likely been crafted in the second half of the 19th century. The fancy-link chain is of an exceedingly good length of 168 centimetres allowing it to be wrapped around the neck two or three times with ease, and of course can have pendants and enhancers attached if desired. There is one large bolt ring clasp which is working well, is secure, and allows the necklace to be worn at a set length when worn twice around the neck. The necklace features the French eagle gold purity mark indicating it is 18 karat yellow gold and manufactured in France. In exceedingly good order this necklace is an absolute essential for anyone who likes to layer gold necklaces and likes to have their money close by, in this case, around their neck!
