This tall George II period sterling silver coffee pot is decorated with elegant floral repousse details and features a blonde timber handle. To the side of the coffee pot there is a blank cartouche which remains free of a heraldic crest or a monogram which is a rarity for a piece of this age. The pot features hallmarks for manufacture in London in 1748 under the reign of George II, however the makers mark which is located on the underside of the pot is slightly rubbed and remains unidentified. The piece is in extraordinarily good condition for an item made 275 years ago and is still as usable today as it was in 1748. A beautiful addition to the breakfast table with freshly decanted coffee, or a potentially prized item for an English silver collector.
