Description

A green, black, and aventurine coloured glass Vase (Monart Colour Code 162) designed by Salvador Ysart attributed to John Moncrieff Ltd of Scotland. Salvador Ysart, a Spanish born and French trained glass artist began working for John Moncrieff Ltd in 1922. It was around this time that Salvador worked in conjunction with John Moncrieff's wife Isobel to produced 'Monart Glass'. It was in 1947 when Salvador, and his two sons Augustine and Vincent left Moncrieffs to form Strathearn (Also known as Ysart Brothers Glassworks) and produced their own version of Monart called Vasart (Vasart later became the name of Strathearn/Ysart Bros).
