Description

In terms of Arts & Crafts design, Liberty and Co in London are one of the most recognised names producing at the time. This sterling silver spoon was crafted in Birmingham and has a date hallmark for 1910 along with a maker's mark for Liberty & Co. The handle of the spoon has been rub-over set with a single piece of cabochon turquoise which is original to the design and is very typical of the period. The spoon has been beautifully hand hammered and is other than the turquoise cabochon 'un adorned', very much echoing the restraint of the Arts & Crafts period. The piece presents in good overall order with minor signs of wear in the forms of slight knocks and abrasions, commensurate with age and use. A gorgeous piece of Arts & Crafts silver, by one of the best makers of the period!

Marked - Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1910, and Liberty & Co hallmark
