Description
It's very rare that we have any jewels with any Christmas connotations, however this mid century brooch pin is an exception. Crafted from 14 karat white gold and set with coral, nephrite jade and a single diamond, this pin retains its original retailing box for 'G Sander' in Prague. The brooch likely dates to the mid 20th century based off the design of the fitted box and given it is crafted from white gold we can be confident that it was manufactured after the Art Deco period. The carved jade leaves are mounted to the white gold frame and accented with seven coral cabochon 'berries'. In the stem of the mistletoe is a single rose cut diamond, almost giving the impression of a small raindrop. The brooch features a pin and trombone style clasp which is working well and is secure. There are some slightly rubbed hallmarks to the rear which are unfortunately illegible, however are likely Continental in origin. A really delightful and whimsy brooch which would be striking worn on a white blazer or tweed suit.
