This pair of gold and iolite ear clips were made by the Italian jeweller 'Pomellato'. The brand was established in Milano in 1967 and therefore the earrings can be dated to being manufactured during the last quarter of the 20th Century, or early 21st Century. The 18 carat yellow gold discs enclose a flat backed and checkerboard cut iolite which is classed as 'bright mid - dark slightly greyish purple lightly included'. The ear clips are finished to the rear with a keyhole clip fitting which is working well and is secure, and allows the clips to be worn by people with or without pierced ears. A beautiful example of the craftsmanship that made Pomellato the famous jewellery house it is today.
