Art Deco Gold & Diamond Drop Earrings

Crafted from a mixture of rose gold, yellow gold and platinum, these diamond set drop earrings date from the Art Deco period. The handmade drops are manufactured from 15 karat yellow gold which have been topped with platinum and set with old mine cut diamonds. The diamonds are all old mine cut stones which have been four claw set and are surrounded by milgrain detailing. Each of these old mine cut diamonds are graded as being between G and M in colour, with most being between G and I colour, and are of SI to I1 clarity totalling 1.33 carat. The sides of the yellow gold mounts have been ornately hand engraved with intricate scroll like detailing. The earrings secure to the ear with rose gold shepherd's hooks which appear to be later additions and are likely not original to the piece. The shepherd's hooks are stamped for 14 karat yellow gold however they test with an XRF machine as 18 karat gold which is a more accurate reading. The earrings both present in very good overall condition with minor wear to the finish commensurate with age and use. A stunning pair of Deco period earrings which are undoubtedly going to be a beautiful accompaniment to a cocktail ensemble.
