This pair of cufflinks have been crafted from 18 karat yellow gold and onyx 'batons' by French jeweller Boucheron. The cufflinks which date to circa 1975 retain their original fitted box and were retailed in the United Kingdom with Boucheron having a store in London. One side of each link is a double rope twist in 18 karat gold which connects to a cylindrical onyx baton which is secured with a band of gold. Each of the onyx batons have some very very minor fleabites to the section of onyx that meets the gold banding, commensurate with age and use. The pair feature English gold import marks for London, which tells us they were most likely made in France for retail in the United Kingdom. A gorgeous pair of versatile cufflinks which could be worn during the day or for a black tie dinner also.
