Description

A very fine pair of Retro period aquamarine and gold earrings. These earrings are crafted from 10 karat yellow gold and are each set with a 2.4 carat octagonal cut aquamarine. The posts on this pair are threaded (screw on) so that they remain securely on the ear, without fear of them falling off. Being crafted from 10 karat gold they are likely to have originated in the United Kingdom, however are unmarked, while the screw backs are marked for 14 karat gold. Given the style of these earrings they would date to the mid 20th century, during the height of the 'Retro' period. A really delightful pair of cocktail earrings, featuring the ever popular cool blue hues of aquamarine.
