An impressive ruby and diamond ring set in a platinum mount. The central oval cut ruby weighs 3.06 carat and is accompanied by a GIA certification stating its origin as Thai and that it has been heated. Each shoulder of the ring is channel set with twelve tapered baguette diamonds of H/I colour and SI clarity. The ruby is surrounded by 22 tapered baguette cut diamonds again of H/I colour and SI clarity which together with the shoulders total 2.36 carat. When on the finger the shape is reminiscent of an 'ogee', a shape which is ancient in origin and features throughout history in art and architecture. This substantial ring has wonderful presence and is a sizeable piece both in stone weight but also its actual size.
