A well executed portrait of Marie Antionette from the late 19th century. This French picture has been painted on celluloid which has been patterned to imitate ivory. The original gilt bronze (ormolu) frame is in lovely condition and features a coronet to the top and fleur-de-lis medallions throughout. To the rear is a stand which has a small likely makers mark for the frame, however is unidentified. The portrait has been signed to the lower right hand corner, however is illegible.
