Crafted from rosewood and mounted with silver plated handles, this tray was made by Puiforcat in France during the later part of the 20th century. The tray is a reissue by Puiforcat to a design by Jean Puiforcat's (1897-1945) original 1928 design which is often seen with an accompanying four piece tea service. The exterior rim of the tray has ribbed edges which are accented with two silver plated handles each mounted with three small silver plated spheres imitating the original Art Deco version. Designs by Puiforcat are exceedingly collectable with his works held in museums worldwide and collectors like Andy Warhol acquiring some of his most famous pieces. This particular reissue is a great size to hold champagne flutes for an elegant cocktail party or would be lovely on a large vanity topped with perfume bottles and cosmetics. A delightful example of the covetable designs of Jean Puiforcat without the price tag associated with a period original.
