The most wonderful 18 karat yellow gold, ruby and diamond spray brooch from the 1950s. The handcrafted cocktail brooch appears as stylised feathers which have been accented with spines of brilliant cut rubies and semi modern brilliant cut diamonds. The 30 semi modern brilliant cut diamonds are of G/H colour and SI clarity totalling 1.20 carat while the 26 rubies total 6.50 carat. The spray brooch pin sweeps down and pins in place with a hinged twin pin and tube type clasp. The piece is reminiscent of the style of brooches that were popularised in the 1950s by people like Wallis Simpson the Duchess of Windsor and Princess Grace of Monaco. An excellent example of Retro period jewellery combining three elements which are synonymous with the period - rubies, diamonds and yellow gold!
