This unusual necklace has been crafted from carved rock crystal beads intercepted by wax filled gold beads, likely of antiquity. The carved rock crystal beads are sometimes referred to as 'melon' shape, and in this necklace are graduated in size centring to the largest bead at the centre front. The gold foil beads have been wax filled and alternate in shape and size and could be referred to as 'lantern' in style. It is likely the gold beads are of antiquity and are very likely Eastern in origin, however it is impossible to be certain. The necklace terminates with a tongue and box clasp which has been integrated into one of the gold foil beads. A really beautiful and highly unusual necklace which is beautiful in its design and its heft when worn.
