Van Cleef & Arpels Ruby & Diamond Ring in 18kt Gold

This bypass style ring has been crafted by French jeweller Van Cleef & Arpels from rubies and diamonds set in 18 karat yellow gold. The ring's two 'shoulders' meet and cross in the centre which is often referred to as a 'bypass' ring. One shoulder of the ring is set with 11 brilliant cut diamonds that have been pave set and are each of F/G colour and VS clarity totalling 0.40 carat. The other shoulder is channel set with six baguette cut and one triangle step cut ruby which can be described as fine purplish red, bright and eye clean. The ring is fully hallmarked internally for Van Cleef & Arpels and has two French hallmarks on the outside of the shank, one for the gold purity and the other unfortunately has rubbed and is illegible. In lovely condition this ring unfortunately cannot be resized without losing some of the hallmarks, so we would not recommend any changes in size. A fine example of the quality jewellery produced by one of the most famous French jewellery houses.
